Reducing Your ACC Levy

In April 2010 the average New Zealand ACC Workcover Levy increased by 41%. In already tough times, this has placed an extreme burden on employers.

Too many New Zealand employees are being seriously injured at work. Did you know that you can reduce these costs, and thus make direct savings, by putting claims management and OHS / Injury prevention plans in place?

As one of New Zealand’s most experienced and largest global third party claims manager, Gallagher Bassett can assist employers of all sizes to reduce costs, through the following solutions:

Workplace Safety Management Practices (WSMP)

For employers that are currently not receiving discounts from ACC, it is possible to receive annual discounts ranging from 10-20% of your ACC Work Levy.

  • Provide you with documentation that meets the theory side of WSMP audit.
  • Provide training to ensure compliance with practical requirements of WSMP.
  • If the above two points are followed, Gallagher Bassett guarantee an annual discount at a minimum of 10%.
  • The majority of employers could expect 15%.
  • Selection of appropriate auditor.
  • Assistance to move you from a 10% or 15% to 20% annual discount, and towards potential Partnership Programme self insured options.
