Gallagher Bassett SA General Manager Paul Easter and Chairman Peter Searson will be taking part in the 2015 Bupa Challenge Tour.

The bike ride takes place on 23rd January 2015 and forms part of the Tour Down Under.

Peter and Paul are part of the “Chairman’s 11” team, which is made up of a number of senior leaders from South Australian businesses.

When speaking about the challenge, Paul explained, “each and every one of us has a touching story about someone close that has been affected by cancer.

I am not usually a committed rider, but I will be riding for my Dad and that is worth the sweat and pain.  In 2013 my Dad passed away suddenly from Leukaemia.  At the time of his diagnosis he was given only 12 weeks to live.

Not a day goes by where I don’t think of him and my drive to take part in this challenge is my belief that we will find a cure for cancer, with enough money and time ”.

The Chairman’s 11 team are busy training with Coach Patrick Jonker, winner of the 2004 Tour Down Under.

The riders will follow the same path as the pros , riding part of the world tour route.  The Bupa Challenge Tour 2015 starts in Glenelg and finishes in Mount Barker, a distance of 151.7km.

Each member of the team has a personal fundraising target of $10,000.
